SPD 2019 Review
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration March 15th. Once again the party took place in the State Street Pavilion inside Fenway Park. Many special guests joined us for the celebration including members of the Connacht Rugby team, many of our elected officials, Consul General Fionnuala Quinlan and the government in Dublin was represented by Government Chief Whip and Minister of State for Gaeilge, the Gaeltacht and the Islands, Sean Kyne TD.
The Spirit Award
The night was very special night for many reasons, none moreso than the inaugural presentation of the Irish Network Boston Spirit Award. The recipient of the award was Hannah Serpa and her family and we were delighted to have Hannah’s mom, our own Michelle Serpa on hand to accept the award. Lisa McElvey from Just Happy Tears marked the occasion with a special poem written for the family. The Serpa’s story is one of heartbreak, courage, determination, resilience and love and we could not be more proud to have the family as the first ever recipients of the Spirit Award.
